🧩 Individual Scout Profile (ISP)
At Troop 36, we believe every Scout deserves the opportunity to succeed, feel included, and fully enjoy the Scouting experience.
Each Scout learns differently, communicates differently, and experiences the world in their own unique way. That’s why Troop 36 is introducing our updated Individual Scout Profile (ISP) for 2026 a confidential tool designed to help our leaders better understand and support each Scout’s individual needs.
🌲 What Is the Individual Scout Profile?
The ISP is a voluntary form that allows parents and guardians to share important information that can help troop leaders create a safer, more supportive, and more successful environment for their Scout.
The form includes areas such as:
- Learning styles and strengths
- Special interests and hobbies
- Allergies, medications, and dietary needs
- Sensory sensitivities
- Communication preferences
- Emotional or sensory triggers
- Self-regulation and calming strategies
- Additional diagnoses or concerns families may wish to share
This information helps our registered leaders better prepare for meetings, outings, campouts, and high-adventure activities while ensuring Scouts receive the support they need to thrive.
🤝 Building an Inclusive Scouting Experience
Scouting is for everyone.
The ISP was created to help Troop 36 continue building a program where every Scout feels welcomed, respected, and understood regardless of learning style, sensory needs, communication differences, or developmental challenges.
By understanding what helps a Scout succeed, leaders can better adapt activities, communication, and support strategies to create more positive experiences for the entire troop.
🛡️ Privacy & Confidentiality
We understand that families may be sharing personal information, and protecting that privacy is extremely important to us.
All ISP information is kept confidential and is only shared with registered adult leaders who work directly with your Scout. The goal is simple: to provide the best possible support while respecting each family’s privacy and comfort level.
📚 A Resource Designed for Success
The updated ISP was inspired by earlier resources developed by Autism Empowerment and Autism & Scouting and has been adapted to support today’s Scouts and leaders.
Rather than focusing only on challenges, the form encourages families to highlight strengths, interests, and successful strategies that can help Scouts build confidence and fully participate in the program.
🌟 Every Scout Belongs
Some Scouts need extra structure. Some need sensory accommodations. Some communicate differently. Some simply benefit from leaders understanding how they learn best.
No matter the circumstance, Troop 36 believes Scouting should be a place where every young person has the opportunity to grow, lead, explore, and belong.
Because the best adventures happen when everyone has the chance to participate.
👨👩👧 Working Together as a Team
Parents and guardians know their Scout best, and the ISP helps us work together as partners in supporting each Scout’s journey.
Families interested in completing an ISP can access the form through the troop portal or speak with troop leadership for additional information.
Together, we can continue building a troop culture where every Scout has the opportunity to succeed both on and off the trail.
